FAILURE (Leadership)

Continuing my series on failure, I want to talk about the failure in leadership that is happening at multiple levels in our society. So many people look to the President, or Congress, or the governor of their state for leadership. We hold contentious elections believing that if we just select the right person then they will alleviate the fears we have and solve the things we think are problems. Some even believe that we must select certain people or a certain party because it and those candidates are ordained and called by God. On the other hand some pick leaders they think will serve the particular interest of people and groups like themselves. They will further their agenda only, even to the detriment of everyone else. So we fight each other online and around the water cooler, and sometimes actually fight each over who we choose as our political leader.      It is this willingness to wholeheartedly give ourselves to these political leaders that is a major reason why our...

FAILURE(Law Enforcement)

Continuing on the theme of failure I wanted to share some thoughts on the police. Now this is not going to be about getting rid of the police, cause I don't believe that is the right thing to do, nor is it going to be some justification that everything they do is right, cause I know from my time as a police officer that that isn't true. What I want is to hopefully get people to take a step back and look at some of the situations in the last year in particular and give thought to how we can do things better.      So I want to talk about what took place at the US Capital recently. People gathered to express their dissatisfaction with the results of the 2020 election and their support of the president. This is fine, a legally protected right under the constitution. You may not agree with those gathered or the message, but it is their right just like if BLM wants to gather or the million man march, or even shockingly if the KKK wants to gather. In my opinion some of th...

FAILURE (Personal)

Throughout my life I have had failures. Anyone that saw me try to play basketball, run track, and wrestle in high school can attest that my athletic career was a failure. I took test in school that I should have got an 'A' on if I had studied and applied myself, and the times I didn't prepare and didn't get an 'A' I consider it a failure. Even more so in the academic realm, I never finished my bachelor's degree in Engineering. Just years worth of credits sitting in limbo to remind me of my failure to finish when many people made sacrifices so I could achieve a higher education. As many know I have never been married and have no children, which I also consider to be a failure on my part. Most importantly, in my walk I have committed sins knowing that it separates my from my savior. Doing it in full knowledge of what Jesus did for me. I have been a failure at living the life that he wants me to live. I say these things to let you know that I understand failure...

VISION 11/4/2020

Behold, I woke on Wednesday morning November 4, 2020. I was happy to be blessed by the Most High with another day. I headed out into the world and there was great sorrow for some and great joy for others. I had great joy because I knew how much grace had been shown to me by the Savior, and I thought maybe the others who were happy shared this same feeling and the ones who were sad were that way because they don't know the Savior. I found out that all of their feelings were based off the election of a new king, and nothing to do with blessings that they had received from their Heavenly Father.      I continued on until I came to a sight that amazed me. Their was a crowd of people that wanted to fight each other. They were evenly divided and some had various weapons and wore the armor of their chosen side. There was red and blue and letters and symbols like 'Q' and 'BLM'. None of them said anything that sounded like it came from the Holy Word, they quoted only from th...

RED ALERT!

So a few weeks ago I shared something from the Bible with someone, because I heard some things they were saying and thought the scripture could help them as it has helped me. I shared it with them because I believed that they appreciated the word of God. So I have thought to share the scripture in a blog post. For those who believe in the Bible it will and should have meaning to you and hopefully make you look at your life. I know it has made me look at my life and the things I say and do. Even if you don't believe in the Bible I still hope you read this post and give it some thought.      In the highly charged political climate in the United States it has become common place for people to use abusive and hateful language towards people who don't agree with them. I have even heard people wish death and destruction upon people they feel oppose their political views. It has even honestly gone beyond speaking, to the point that people have been physically threatened, assault...

A Little Disturbed III

Lastly there have been some anti-Semitic language used recently by a few black people of prominence. For some of them I must say this is not new and if you go back you will see that they have made similar statements in the past. Even if they actually had some basis for what they have said, it is drawing attention away from the message of police brutality and injustice. I want to unequivocally say that any Antisemitism or Racist language against white people is just as wrong as what they say against black people. People saying and doing such things should not be supported and need to admit their wrong and try to make amends and learn. I did read that Nick Cannon has made efforts to do that, and I pray this helps him grow as a person.      Now I know that ...

A Little Disturbed II

**Found this art of a futuristic dystopian police state. This is not at all how I see things now or even necessarily in the future, but thought it was interesting and might draw some attention. Please read my words below to see what this post is about. So the second incident that disturbed me is the situation with federal police officers in Portland. They were dressed in camo and initially it was not known or publicized who they were. I have since read that it is CBP (Customs and Border Patrol). They appeared to be sent in to quell the unrest in the city since it has been interpreted that local politicians and law enforcement could not. I later researched that they are protecting the federal courthouse in Portland, or at least that is the official statement as to why they are there. I confess that currently I am not very clear on what the truth is in regards to who they are and what they are doing.       So here is what is disturbing me. For many years I have heard f...
